Sparks

Those scattered moments stretched into molasses memory as I watched the acid starlight erupt from the shrapnel cocoon of what was once en electric transformer. It was eerily silent before the soundwaves hit, as the Phoenix flame was swallowed by sky, leaving molten feathers strewn upon the dry grass. Firefighters came, but little remained of the event other than scorched earth and darkened traffic lights. I found it oddly beautiful.
