CHAPTER 1 – Blades and Drills

Trephine, 1870s, used for boring holes in the skull

Fleam, 19th Century. One would put the correct size of blade over a vein abd then tap the backside with a wooden stick.

 

Scarificator, late 1700’s – The 13 spring-loaded blades would slice quickly through the skin at the push of the release button. Commonly followed by cupping to increase the blood flow.

DeVilbiss No 15 Atomizer – Used with inhalant anesthetics such as ether and chloroform, it was later adopted by the perfume industry

 

CHAPTER 3 – Technology and Science

Revigator – I put in water and ran tests on the water after leaving it overnight. It tested at 30ppb of arsenic (3x safe levels), it tested positive for lead, and the radiation levels were at 14.60 μSv/h. That is equivalent to the fallout of the Fukishima Power Plant meltdown, and exceeds current levels in the Chernobyl cooling towers.
